Love Letter Kiddie Pool, 1998, Performance |
| Love Letter Kiddie Pool documents a four and one half hour performance in which I read seventy-six love letters from a former lover, while sitting in a kiddie pool filled with water. I wore a fuzzy, yellow, footed sleeper and a Mexican professional wrestling mask. I made a line on my chest with a permanent marker after I read each letter. After reading the last letter, which is the Dear John letter, I took off my clothes and washed the marks off my body in a ritualistic manner. The marks did not completely wash out however, commenting on the lasting effects of a lengthy relationship that ends in breakup. |
